John Lee Kei-Ben Iaito

Since many years the name John Lee is well known by collectors, sword-fighting artists and friends of japanese weapons. Inspired by historical swords each class of swords has its own philosophy. But they all have one thing: Quality!
* all blades are hand-made
* to guarantee highest stability all swords do have a very long tang which is fixed with 2 bamboo pins (Mekugi) – so all swords can be parted completely
* There are no synthetic materials used. The used material has to be authentic and of high quality.
* The handles and scabbards are made of wood
* All blade’s clamps (Habaki) and grommets (Seppa) are made of brass.
* Rayhide, sometimes blackened, is always laid underneath the traditional handle‘s wrapping
* All decorations (Tsuba, Fuchi, Menuki, Kashira) are made of metal.
All orginal John Lee swords do have a seal and a certificate. Furthermore each sword does have a protective covering made of fabric.
Iaito Line: The Iaito sport is about the art of sword drawing. So every sword of this line is blunt but made of 420 carbon steel so there is a realistic training possible.
